Very nice place. When the foliage changes color at the end of September / beginning of October, you get a bit of the "Canada feeling".

June 27, 2025,Baiersbronner Himmelsweg: 2-Seen-Tour inkl. Kniebis
From Baiersbronn train station, I set off toward the Sankenbach Valley. At about the level of the wildlife enclosure, I came across a green dragonfly on a white background, which showed me the way. Soon, the idyllic Sankenbachsee lake appeared. The climb that followed was quite challenging. But where else do you see a self-service waterfall?

Very nice, varied route, with a detour to the Kniebis Hut. There's everything from paths, root paths to wide forest paths. The sections that are asphalted don't really bother you, as the beautiful panorama distracts from them.
Also fantastic views. Not to forget the two lakes and the waterfall. 😊

Very nice varied hike. I enjoyed it.

Today is the 2nd tour in the Baiersbronn Heavenly Trail series.

The 2-lake tour is very varied and has several highlights. The route leads through the romantic Sankenbachtal up to the Sankenbachsee. This is followed by the somewhat demanding, almost alpine ascent at the Sankenbach waterfall to the waterfall hut and further to the Ellbachseeblick. The descent on a pristine …

Hike to the Sankenbachsee with ascent along the Sankenbach waterfall to the Ellbachsee and past the wooden path back to Baiersbronn.

The Sankenbachsee is one of the five cirque lakes in the municipality of Baiersbronn, which were created during the last and penultimate ice age. There are over 60 clearly recognizable cirques in the Baiersbronn district.

Start at the car park by the game reserve. Always follow the sign with the dragonfly. First we pass the Sankenbach lake and continue up to the waterfall. Once at the top we continue towards Kniebis. Across the viewing platform down to the Elbachsee. Back at the top with a view of Mitteltal. Across the wooden path and the game …

The route is a mix of everything there is on hiking trails.
Those who are sure-footed should definitely take part in the adventure trail. M. E. But only in this direction. The entrance is quite steep, wet and rooty. Going down there is no fun.

Hello everyone,

Today, I set off on the last tour of the Baiersbronn Heavenly Trails around mid-afternoon. I usually start hikes like this in the morning, as there aren't many people around. But firstly, things don't always turn out the way you expect, and secondly, not as you might expect.
