Hiking
At Trooz, the Weser has dug deep into the surrounding limestone plateau. If you want to hike to the surrounding heights, this involves steep climbs. You will be amply rewarded with unforgettable views. Almost the entire hike runs on natural paths and paths through the countryside. The only place you cross is the hilltop town of Forêt. On the Place du Village, located directly at the church, you can take a leisurely break.
The hike starts just outside the gates of Trooz train station. Witnesses of the long-gone industrial heyday of the place, such as the rolling mill, can be found along the way. You quickly climb up out of the valley. The paths in the forest are sometimes really steep, so take your time to enjoy the fantastic view of the Weser Valley. After you finally leave Forêt behind you, it's all downhill. The wonderful, varied hike comes to an end back at Trooz train station.
