Steep climbs with an ocean panorama, the finest gravel roads, a Buddhist monastery and the famous Bodega Güell de Gaudí await you on the 60-kilometer tour through the Garraf Nature Park. You can take the train from Barcelona Sants train station to Platja de Castelldefels to save yourself the first 20 kilometers and get straight onto the more scenic route. You can also take the tour in the other direction and end on the coast.
From Platja de Castelldefels you first drive along the coast on a paved road, past Garraf and with a wonderful view of the blue sea to the horizon. Now you take the steepest climb of the tour under your tires: On the Camí de la Trinitat, the concrete surface is really steep. With a 14% incline, there's no shame in pushing the bike a bit. At the small chapel you can take a short breather and marvel at the view.
Soon you have conquered the first mountain and you are in the middle of the Parc del Garraf. On quiet gravel roads you roll through the special, gently rolling landscape with the typical Mediterranean thicket. A few kilometers further you will reach the monastery - it is worth taking a break here to admire the stupa and, if you have enough time, to take a guided tour. Or you'll come back another time; meditation courses and retreats are also offered.
For the next ten kilometers you drive on a fantastic gravel route across the nature park and finally reach Begues. You've managed the altitude difference for today - from now on it's only downhill.
After a kilometer-long, fast descent you reach the banks of the Llobregat, along which you drive a little further until you turn your back on nature and head back into the urban realm. Via the Carretera Reial, which later becomes the Avinguda del Paralel, you get back to the city and look back on a long, eventful day in the saddle.

Did this yesterday and it was such a beautiful route. I can't recommend it enough, thanks for putting it together Hannah! I stopped at Begues because it was getting dark and rode to Gava to take the rodalie back to Barcelona, which is a super convenient option.
