Along the stream - that's the motto of this approximately ten-kilometer hike. Enjoy nature to the fullest and watch the butterflies fluttering around the flowers along the trail. Breathe in the sweet scent of the hay meadows. Enjoy the cool shade in the mixed forests and be enchanted by the babbling of the streams. The starting point of the hike is at the Lourdes Grotto in Schönberg.

You walk up a gentle incline. When you reach the Knieberg, the route heads east into another valley that is a nature reserve. Here the Großweberbach meanders through the landscape. Your path leads you along the shore. At the end of the tour you will reach the wide valley of the Our again and make a short detour to the Bürgerschaft viewpoint. Because from here you have a particularly beautiful view of the valley. In Schönberg you will find several opportunities to stop off.

This afternoon I jumped from the southern Eifel to neighboring East Belgium.
I initially dismissed the name of the tour as a marketing gimmick, but in a certain section of the small tour from Schönberg (St. Vith) you can really see a lot of butterflies, a sight that is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare. 🦋
