Hiking

The starting point is at the Kelterplatz in Hohenhaslach, Sachsenheim. On the way towards Freudental, with views of the surrounding vineyards, treats and wines are offered to you at a wine crate. From there, it continues slightly uphill across the hilly surroundings. From various viewpoints with comfortable hill sofas, you have wonderful panoramic views. The geological window Hohenhaslach also offers you an insight into the region's rock layers. Afterwards, it gently descends via the forest path in the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park.

Shortly before the end, the path leads you through the historically grown wine-growing village of Hohenhaslach. Time for a stopover in one of the local 'Besen' (that's what the temporarily open wine taverns of the wineries are called), to get to know the local wines. A visit to a 'Besenwirtschaft' is part of the mandatory program in the land of 1000 hills. In the country inn „Zur Rose” in Hohenhaslach, you can get regional dishes after an extensive hiking day. (Research the opening hours in advance, as well as for the wine crate near Freudental.) At the Kirchbergstaffel, you can enjoy a beautiful view over the village once more as a finale.

The bus stop „Hohenhaslach Steige”, with connections to the region via bus lines 567, 571, 571A, 572 and 590, is located directly on the path. On weekends, you can also travel by the Stromer bus.

Zur Rose Inn with Butcher’s Shop

Highlight • Restaurant

It is always nice to read the words "Metzgerei" (butchery) and "Landgasthof" (country inn) in a name. They bear witness to the fact that the sausage and meat products have the shortest possible journey to pot and pan, and that the chef always knows exactly what he is processing. The results are accordingly: traditional, hearty, and very tasty.

Please inquire directly about opening hours and closing days
or find them on the homepage: metzgerei-gasthof-rose.de

Was on my plan the whole time. I can really recommend it. Hardly any asphalt, many natural hiking trails. You are also out and about a lot in the forest and the fantastic view that you have in different places is just great. A hiking trail that really suits my taste.

Despite the rather damp weather and correspondingly reduced views, we still had a lovely hike through vineyards and forest!

Today was a super nice tour and the weather 🌞 was also right 6°+ and even double digits on the sunny places. From one vantage point to the next and one more beautiful than the other.
Only the trails were partly very muddy.
The negative thing was that there was garbage 🤮 lying around at the beautiful rest areas. I …

Today we did our first long hike 🥾 this year 🤗. We parked in Hohenhaslach. From there we took the panoramic path through the vineyards 🍇. On to Schönenberg and from there to Teufelsberg. On through the partly snow-covered forest back to Hohenhaslach. A very nice round trip 😃. Recommended 👍🏼
