The Hiwweltour Zornheimer height is also rather comfortable - about eight kilometers of track and only just under 140 vertical meters result in genuine hiking enjoyment. Along the trail, ten information boards provide you with a wealth of knowledge about the nature, history and agricultural use of the Zornheimer Höhe.…

Crisp😉.... and versatile. Beautiful views, beautiful visions, good insights. 🌞And the sun was with us this morning! Wonderful 🌿🍃🍂🍷🍇 And... persimmons grow in Zornheim!
With this Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg I have hiked all currently active Hiwwelttouren at least once. A new one in Saulheim is currently being planned. On this tour you should definitely take a look at the chapel with its triangular panorama windows. But be careful not to get lost. After the chapel you have to go back a bit, otherwise you will take a massive shortcut and will soon be back in Zornheim. But then you will miss the beautiful ascents and descents :-). For an overview of the route, here is the tour as a Relive video: https://www.relive.cc/view/vdvm34Jr5x6
A beautiful late autumn walk in Zornheim. The Eckes Chapel is stunning in every season.
After we ended up in Rheinhessen by chance, we found the landscape worth exploring. Now it finally worked! Eating and drinking is excellent in the region and it doesn't have to be expensive. For the Hiwweltour (Hiwwel are the hills) you first have to find the parking lot next to the Zornheim sports hall, after which the path is clearly marked. Starting from the Zornheimer Berg vantage point, we follow the route down through loose fruit trees with interspersed horse paddocks and chicken paradises to the wetland with various ponds. There are always sweeping views of the distant Frankfurt skyline. From the ponds it goes up through fields and vineyards to the highest vantage point next to two hard-working wind generators. Great view from there from the ridge of the Odenwald in the east to the Donnersberg in the southeast. Dramatic views of the many wind turbines with the short rain showers, which we didn’t leave out either. Then quite steeply down and past the Wingert house back up to the starting point. Watched the parade of starlings in fascination. Thousands of birds that come from the direction of Zornheim fly on in cloud-like swarms to the Palatinate. The crowning glory: plum cake and coffee at the farmer's on the way to the hiking car park. We'll be back, next time in sunshine!
I like this tour. Beautiful meadow paths - finally no muddy paths and at the end a wet brown something on the leash 🐶😄
I actually wanted to see the sunrise from Zornheimer Eerg, but then breakfast wouldn't have worked out... Dreamingly quiet - the meadows still very damp - cold wind - hazy, but a wonderful atmosphere... I love this nearby hike; it's beautiful in every direction and in every season. Maybe I'll be able to see the sunrise in the fall...🙃
An additional round was added, but Komoot somehow swallowed it.
