Steigerwald-Runde Three Forests Trail

The Steigerwald circuit “Three Forests Path” invites you to a varied landscape with breathtaking views.

The circular hike has a length of approx. 15 km and is well suited as a full-day excursion. It mostly runs on natural paths of three forest owners, the forest of the Bavarian State Forests, the Gerolzhofen-Dingolshausen civic forest and the Oberschwarzach community forest. It leads from Geusfeld over the treetop path in Ebrach, past the Steigerwald center in Handthal and back again. There are numerous historical highlights along the way, whose stories you can immerse yourself in. The Dreiherrnbrunnen, near Ebrach, forms the oasis of the circular route and invites you to linger. At the exchange bank you can find out more about the Cistercians. The Steigerwald treetop path gives you a view of the treetops. The connecting path from the treetop path towards Handthal informs you about the special features of the bats. The Magdalene Cross offers an impressive view of Handthal and the Stone Cross leads you into the realm of legends.
