Themed tour 7 is one of five consistently signposted circular tours and takes you on winding paths through the increasingly wild forests of the Eifel National Park.
You can shorten the tour between Wolfgarten and Tönnishäuschen. To do this, follow the T7 signs briefly or take bus 231 from Tönnishäuschen to Gemünd.
Note: Due to steep ascents and descents into the Urfttal, the tour is rather demanding 💪
Directions for the shortcut:
About 700m behind Wolfgarten, the path forks and you can walk towards Gemünd via the Jägerpfad and Bohnenpfad. If you arrive at the Tönnishäuschen car park, you have walked too far and missed the turnoff for the shortcut.
Public transport tips:
🚉 From the direction of Cologne/Bonn, take the train via Euskirchen to Kall Bf. From there, the bus takes you to Gemünd Mitte (lines SB 82 or SB81). (Timetable information: www.vrs.de)
🚉 From the direction of Aachen, take line SB 63 to Simmerath. Line 63 takes you to Vogelsang IP Forum, from where line SB 82 (National Park Shuttle) takes you to Gemünd. (Timetable information: https://auskunft.avv.de/#!P|TP!histId|0!histKey|H90862)
🚌 Lines 231 (Kermeter line) and 814 (Kermeter shuttle) run between Gemünd and Wolfgarten
