Panorama Trail (alternative route)

Trail running is your thing, but with pleasure please? Then lace up your running shoes and conquer the alternative route of the Panorama Trail. The beauty and views are in no way inferior to the original, but save you a few strenuous vertical meters. Because instead of climbing every single peak along the route, you simply walk past their foot. A dreamlike panorama is also guaranteed on this route.

With one of the most modern gondola lifts in Europe you float up to the Zwölferkogel of the same name. You can still expect a few vertical meters. A steep ascent to the Hohe Penhab will make you sweat right at the beginning. At the foot of the Zehentner Stange, the Manlitzkogel and Rabenkopfes, you trot on to the summer gate with great views.

Why not stop for a moment? Finally, in the distance you can marvel at the Hohe Tauern with the majestic Großglockner and Großvenediger. In the north you can see the magnificent limestone Alps. It continues below the Lamperbichlkogel, Bärensteinkopf and Medalkogel. Of course, if you still want to touch a summit cross, you can always walk a few extra meters upwards.

When you arrive at the Schattberg, the Schattberg X-Press gondola takes you gently back down into the valley to Saalbach.
