Hiking

This relaxed, pram-friendly and wonderfully natural circular route leads you to the Trinity Church in Kappl. To do this, you start in the historic center of Waldsassen. In addition to its monastery basilica, the monastery library, the nature adventure garden of the Waldsassen Abbey and the Stiftland Museum, the monastery town also has a beautiful old town that you should definitely take a closer look at. Either at the beginning or at the end of your tour.

When you are ready, you start to walk in the direction of Kappl - always following the main path with the number 5. First right over Münchenreuther Straße and Schützenstraße to the forest car park at the ASV sports grounds and from there on a beautiful pedestrian path to the Holy Trinity Church. After about three and a half kilometers you have already reached it. A look inside pays off and next to it the Kapplwirt is already waiting to serve you if necessary.

Then the way back is already on the agenda: first in the direction of Dietzenberg, then through Münchenreuth and on through beautiful corridors into the forest. Last but not least, it goes back to Waldsassen via the baroque Rosenkranzstationweg.

One of the Stiftland's landmarks and an important baroque circular building stands on a hill three kilometers from Waldsassen. This impressive building was built here on the 628 meter high Glasberg by Georg Dientzenhofer between 1685 and 1689. The special architecture and furnishings of the Kappl symbolize the Holy Trinity.
