Hiking

The Pihapper is the Mittersiller's local mountain. But the 2,513 meter high giant can also be hiked from Hollersbach. And in a particularly idyllic and varied way. But see for yourself!

The tour starts at the Berghof in Hollersbach. Hollersbach itself can be easily reached with the Pinzgauer local train and buses, even without a car. You follow the path with the number 934 up to the Pölsneralm, then walk over the “Mittersiller Platte” first to the west, then to the south to the pre-summit of the Pihapper, the Plugsberg. You are already at 2,414 meters. You can easily manage the last 100!

A narrow path leads you along the ridge to the rise of the summit. Finally, special experience, a head for heights and surefootedness are required: Here you have to master a short climbing passage with a ladder and rope passage. Once at the top, you have a wonderful view of the 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the grass mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps. It was worth the effort, wasn't it? Go down the same way.

Pihapper Summit

Highlight • Summit

A great tour was the one from 08.09. 2014 on the Pihapper (2,513 meters). We went to Mittersill's local mountain (Hohe Tauern). "Only" 540 meters in altitude, but technically quite demanding.

2 summit crosses on one tour. Started early in the morning with breakfast at the Platter, view of Mittersill and the Pihapper. Over stone fields and directly over the mountain ridge over several grades with small climbing passages along slopes. With ropes and a ladder up to the summit of the Pihapper for lunch.
Great view of the Wilder Kaiser, …

Wonderful ascent to the summit with a varied variety of nature and views. The ascent began at the Berghof in Hollersbach. From there on signposted paths directly to the summit. The first third ran through a forest to the Pölsneralm, then it went over a ridge to the Plugsberg pre-summit, from there to the 2513m high Pihapper summit. It went …
