Kaprun: Alexander Enzinger Trail - Hohe Tauern National Park

If you fancy a scenic tour with wonderful nature and rustic huts, but only a few meters in altitude to master, then the Alexander Enzinger Weg is the right place for you. It starts and ends with a gondola ride. In between you stroll comfortably from one natural highlight to the next.

So the fun starts in the glacier lift, which takes you to 2,452 meters above sea level in no time at all (kitzsteinhorn.at/de/service/informationen/betriebs-oeffnungszeiten). From the Alpincenter you can start walking comfortably. Always beautiful along the Alexander Enzian Weg, with a wonderful view and rare flora as your constant companions.

So it’s first to the Krefelder Hütte, then on over the Stangenhöhe (2,212 meters) and the Schoppachhöhe (2,069 meters). Until you stand on the Maiskogel at some point. You hike a little downhill to the Glocknerhaus, where you can take a break. Then you get on the Maiskogelbahn (kitzsteinhorn.at/de/sommer/maiskogel), which lets you “float” directly down to the center of Kaprun.
