I did this tour last year but today I went in the opposite direction.
Today it's the Lautertal Cycle Path again, and since we've never been to the Lauter spring 💦 - it's about time 😃. Overall, a beautiful and highly recommended bike ride through a diverse landscape. We thoroughly enjoyed it, new paths, a newly discovered café in Bichishausen, highly recommended - good coffee, amazing plum cake in the 500-year-old rectory 👍. The encounter with the water buffalo was wonderful; beautiful animals, and when they emerged from their wallow, they looked like me with a healing clay mask, only they were completely immersed 😂. Hundreds of sheep nimbly climbed down the steep slopes of the juniper heath 🫣. The many rest areas along the Lauter are great, some with barbecue areas and always with access to the Lauter. Conclusion: this bike tour gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It was great 🚴🚴♀️
I discovered this tour on Komoot and thought I could do it. It was a very nice route, and even though it was a bit chilly in the Lautetal at the beginning, it was definitely worth it.
Beautiful bike tour around the Große Lautertal on Sunday, August 14th, 2022 in the best weather. The tour "Rund um das Lautertal - Mythos Schwäbische Alb" served as a template. The route at waypoint 22 is not recommended. This is just a narrow hiking trail with loose ground. To do this, drive across above waypoint 22 to waypoint 23. The route from Hayingen via Ödenwaldstetten to Gomadingen mostly leads along paved paths in pure nature. Hardly any bicycle traffic and almost no car traffic. A visit to the Marbach stud farm is recommended. The cycle path along the Lauter to Anhausen is very scenic. The route leads mostly over paved gravel, is easy to drive, but very dusty at the moment. People and bikes need thorough cleaning. Refreshment stop was in Gundelfingen in the "Bauhof Stüble", right on the bike path.
The sun came out early in the morning. The temperature was already pleasantly warm at 11 a.m. The parking lot was ideal for starting the tour, and there are barbecue facilities too. We set off along the Lauter River, all without traffic, until we stopped at the café on the Lauter. It has its own coffee roastery, a soap factory, and is simply a wonderful place to enjoy the scenery. Then we followed an old railway line to Gomadingen. Turn left onto the Alb. Beautiful plains, expansive views, and a varied ride. We continued across the Alb back toward Hayingen. We passed the Maisenburg estate and continued on a downhill route to the parking lot.
Wonderful weather, beautiful scenery, great company and the best food in the warehouse😁
A very nice cycle path along the Great Lauter. Unfortunately I only rode part of the cycle path. Next time I'll do the whole thing.🚲
This is how the cycling summer gets off to a good start when you can enjoy a Hefeweizen on the garden terrace in the Bauhofstüble at the beginning of April in the evening at 6 p.m
