Road cycling

This tour literally criss-crosses the Markgräflerland and, due to its route profile, is reminiscent of legendary Belgian classics such as the Amstel Gold Race. If you like short, but robust climbs and a lot of variety, then nothing to be desired on this tour.

In case you're wondering about the somewhat confused route - here is the explanation: The route takes you over pretty much every sporty climb the area has to offer. It also avoids busy traffic routes and instead mostly runs along narrow, quiet side streets. It's pure enjoyment on two wheels!

Real Black Forest idyll awaits you on the way. You roll past beautiful windfall meadows, come through cozy villages and enjoy time and again the beautiful view of the mountains of the southern Black Forest and - on the other side - the Upper Rhine lowlands to the Vosges. And as is well known, the best comes at the end: the last "wall" from Lipburg to Sehringen is the most difficult and steepest climb of the tour. If your calves aren't glowing after 1,720 meters of altitude over 70 kilometers, then we don't know either ...

Climb to Käsacker

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Beautiful and almost traffic-free street with currently (02/2020) the best surface from Sitzenkirch to Vogelbach. The ascent is tough in sections from both directions, but the incline only briefly reaches maximum values of 12 to 14 percent. The perfect route to switch from the Lippis valley to the Kandertal valley.

The entire section leads over a narrow road, between Niedereggenen and Feuerbach even just over a farm road. You drive here accordingly calmly and can enjoy the journey largely without disturbing motor vehicle traffic.

Highlight • Viewpoint

Small, well-paved road with little traffic and a beautiful view over Müllheim and over to the Blauen.

Kurhaus Badenweiler and the Castle Park

Highlight • Historical Site

Badenweiler is a fashionable health resort with the charm of the early 20th century. Some of the hotel buildings are now showing their age a little, but that doesn't detract from the atmosphere of the town. Many fountains with compatible water offer the opportunity to fill the bottles - which is definitely advisable if you are driving on the Sirnitz or the Blauens (highly recommended).
