Traufgang Zollernburg-Panorama in Albstadt

Exposed viewing rocks, the "Hanging Stone" (Hangender Stein) and the distant views from the escarpment – especially the gigantic view from the Zeller Horn onto Hohenzollern Castle – offer pure panoramic hiking and landscape cinema. On this hike, you will see the world-famous Hohenzollern Castle from all possible angles – but you still won't get enough of it. The majestic landmark of the Zollernalb district will accompany you the entire time.

It's a gentle uphill walk along the ridge. After just a few hundred meters, you'll reach the first breathtakingly beautiful viewpoint. Here, you'll look out over the Black Forest to the Vosges.

Continue via the Heiligenkopf viewpoint to the Ritterstall and the Zollernblick. On the high plateau, the path runs past the Berghotel Zollersteighof, a cozy place to stop for refreshments near the Zeller Horn. Incidentally, this is by far the best spot to admire Hohenzollern Castle. Pause for a moment and enjoy the overwhelming and fairytale-like view of one of Europe's most visited castles. Past the Trauffels with another view of the castle, you'll reach the next highlight – the natural monument "Hangender Stein" with its gigantic panoramic view over the table mountains of the Swabian Jura. Incidentally, recently designated as a Geopoint of the UNESCO Global Geopark Swabian Jura. The path leads via meadow trails to the Kohlwinkelfels viewpoint. The "Langer Weg" rest area with a barbecue pit is ideal for a short break.

Around the Bühl, you'll walk through characteristic juniper heaths – past charcoal kilns and old ore mining sites. Even more great panorama awaits you on the Raichberg-Turm at the Nägelehaus mountain inn. The 360-degree panoramic view from the tower extends on clear days to the Feldberg in the Black Forest and to the Alps to the Zugspitze. At Dagersbrunnen, you'll descend through a gorge forest into the lowland moor in the Schmiech valley and through the Geifitze nature reserve back to the starting point.
