Today we went somewhere else: along the Pader, the shortest river in Germany. Quality hiking trail. It was very nice ... the outside catering was partly open, people sat by the river, walked and it almost seemed normal.
A beautiful city / countryside walk. The walk first went through a part of the city of Paderborn. Nice paths over the water but also along the water and around a city park with all its streams. With another small loop we went towards Schloss Neunhaus. Through beautiful avenues we came via, a beautiful nature reserve where also beautiful streams flowed through, finally at Schloss Neunhaus. With another delicious ice cream we went back to Paderborn. With another beautiful loop along the Padersee and also along the nature reserve before we ended up where we started. And this beautiful special holiday ended with a delicious dinner with a view of the busy city park. By the way, the beaver had also discovered it.😁😁😁😁
The PaderWanderung is a circular route along the shortest river in Germany. The Pader rises from around 200 springs in the city of Paderborn and, depending on the weather, pumps 3,000 to 9,000 liters per second to the surface. After 4 km of river length, however, it is already over and the Pader flows into the Lippe at Neuhaus Castle, which carries less water here than the short Pader. I made slight adjustments to the route on the round, the original route can be found here: www.pader-wandern.de
Interesting city hike along numerous sights through Paderborn to the Padermündung in Neuhaus Castle. The almost dry fish ponds are frightening. Info: https://www.paderborn.de/sport-freizeit/aktiv-freizeit/109010100000109568.php https://jungwandern.de/paderwandern/
A forest- and water-rich loop through Schloß Neuhaus. Very beautiful. The half-timbered café in Schloß Neuhaus is a great place to take a break, right next to the castle.
Today along Germany's shortest river. Nice to walk.

GPX file) Own rating: 5 / 7⭐ Start / finish: Königsplatz underground car park in Paderborn (I paid €5.60 for just under 3 hours) Tour Highlights: - along the Pader from the springs to the mouth - Stümpelsche mill - Heinz-Nixdorf-Aue - Lake Pader - Neuhaus Castle 🏰 - Fürstenhof at the Paderborn market square - Dom - City hall - and much more Briefly summarized: - there wasn't that much going on in this weather (of course there were more people and carnivalists in the city center) 😅 - well signposted - Seating was available at regular intervals 🪑 - various places to stop for refreshments available (e.g. beautifully located: Pader Café am Padersee 👍🏼) - Trail surface: mainly asphalted (along roads from time to time), paved paths, forest floor and some gravel/gravel A nice tour to get to know Paderborn a little better. Since this is my first time in the area, I was able to get a good overview and discover nice corners. 🙃 It's great to stroll through the city center, but I fled as quickly as possible before the carnival parade in the city center started at 2:14 p.m. 🤭 ⭐ There is a deduction because you were accompanied by traffic noise on the whole tour. I would have expected to hear the stormy wind rushing in my ears... 🤷🏼♀️ On the other hand, a few paved sections stretched out and I would have preferred to have brought my bike. But what I really liked about the tour: it contains really natural sections - as far as it is possible in the city. 💚
Today a rather small hike🚶♂️from the Paderquellen out to Neuhaus Castle. The starting point was the Abdinghofkirche above the Börne and Warme Pader springs. Bishop Meinwerk had this today protestant church with monastery around 1000 AD. erect. Remains of the cloister can be viewed in the city museum. Then it went through the headwaters scarred by the tornado, past the source of the Maspernpader, through the Paderwiesen and along the Heinz-Nixdorf-Auen to Lake Padersee. From there it ran parallel to the Fürstenweg/Schlossstraße to Neuhaus Castle with the baroque castle and the castle garden worth seeing 🏵🌹🥀🌼🌷⚘️🌳. The way back led over the fish ponds 🌲🌲 and Schützenhof 🍺 and finally ended at the Rothoborn and Dielenpader springs below the High Cathedral. A worthwhile Sunday tour, where there was a lot to discover that was previously unknown 😎
