Frankston Nature Conservation Reserve protects 98 hectares of native bushland, including one of the largest remaining stands of endangered yellow gum and red box woodland in south Melbourne. The reserve’s woodlands, heathlands, and wetlands provide habitat for kangaroos, echidnas, koalas, and a variety of native birds. There is a network of walking and cycling trails that wind through this beautiful area and around the reservoir, making it an excellent place for a peaceful escape nestled within suburban Frankston.
