I wouldn't recommend it as an easy route. There are a few inclines and surefootedness is a must.

Today's visit to the original stave church in Borgund, which is well worth seeing, is combined with a hike. From the church we went via Sverrestigen to the salmon ladders at Laerdalselvi and back via Vindhellavegen, the old road. It was a very scenic and interesting route along historical paths.

The Vindhellavegen was laid out in 1790 as part of the former postal route. However, the impressive hairpin bends date back to 1843 when the Vindhellavegen was rebuilt. If the original path still had a gradient of 25%, the new road was built with a gradient of 20% so that horse-drawn carts could climb the slope more easily (just like …

Start at the Borgund stave church, then start in the direction of Vindhella Rundstieg, wide path to walk well up and down - BUT only to the road near Husum - from there a STEEG goes steeply uphill, sometimes with an incline of up to 19% - very scenic , good conditions required.

A varied round trip to the old Vindhella path and back to the Borgund stave church. A certain amount of sure-footedness is required, especially in the rain (good thing my trousers are used to trouble...🙄😅). Otherwise, in addition to the usual stones, there is also a lot of forest floor and soft paths through sheep meadows.
The Kyrkjeweg marked on …

The stave church in Borgund has been coated with pitch and therefore makes a particularly interesting impression. Apart from that, with its multiple levels and curves, it looks fancy anyway. We don't go inside because …

The Vindhella circular walk and a visit to Borgund Stave Church are highly recommended. I was so excited about the tour that when I got in the car I forgot to stop the recording - hence the long straight line at the end of the tour. Actual tour dates: 5.6 km and 230 meters in altitude.
