You start at the Auen/Wörther See Mitte bus stop and head west towards Velden. The turquoise waters of Lake Wörthersee accompany you on your right, while you can glimpse the castle on the opposite shore.

Continue along the northern shore with its beautiful views across the lake. You'll pass numerous rest areas right by the water, some of which are suitable for swimming or at least dipping your toes in.

The next destination is Pörtschach, where you'll find several cafes and restaurants to stop for a break. Continue along the eastern shore towards Maria Wörth, where you'll have a lovely view of the striking churches on the small island just offshore (a detour is well worth it). From there, it's a short walk back to the Auen/Wörther See Mitte bus stop.
