Fairfax Heritage Walking Track

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The Fairfax Heritage Walking Track is an easy walk ideal for families or anyone looking for a short walk to experience the beautiful Blue Mountain scenery. The wheelchair-accessible path follows gentle slopes past an unusual hanging swamp before opening into a forest of peppermint and scribbly gums with seasonal wildflowers, including red waratahs in early summer. There are two lookouts along the way, George Phillips Lookout and Govetts Leap Lookout, both with picnic shelters and expansive views across the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park; perfect for taking in the Grose Valley, Govetts Gorge, and Jungle Falls.

Govetts Leap Lookout

Highlight • Viewpoint

Govetts Leap Lookout sits on the edge of a sheer sandstone escarpment, offering one of the most expansive views in the Blue Mountains. From the viewing platform, you look straight across the Grose Valley to rugged cliffs and the thin ribbon of Govetts Leap Falls, dropping nearly 180 metres to the valley floor. It's an ideal place to capture some memorable photos while you're here.

Evans Lookout

Highlight • Viewpoint

Evans Lookout sits on the edge of the Grose Valley, with sweeping views across sandstone cliffs and deep forested gorges. Just a short walk from the car park, it’s a favourite spot for sunrise and sunset and a common access point for the Grand Canyon Track. From here, you can descend into the canyon, following the track through rainforest gullies and sandstone walls before looping back to the rim.

Beauchamp Falls

Highlight • Waterfall

Beauchamp Falls is a beautiful cascade on Greaves Creek, spilling from the Grand Canyon above. The water drops about 10 metres over a series of ledges, split by a rocky outcrop in the middle of the creek. At the base, scattered boulders and a shallow pool sit within cool rainforest, offering a peaceful pause in the shade before continuing along the track.

Grand Canyon Track

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Grand Canyon Track is a 6-kilometre loop walk that winds through lush rainforest, past waterfalls you can walk behind, fern‑lined creeks, rugged rock ledges, and impressive sandstone overhangs, offering both up-close canyon scenery and panoramic views from the rim. Rated as a Grade 3 (moderate) walk, it typically takes about 3 to 4 hours to complete. The beautiful scenery, steep staircases and several creek crossings make it one of the region's most iconic, and rewarding hikes in the Blue Mountains.

Nice spot for a picnic next to the creek. Road is a dirt track (4WD only) but you can walk either from Evans Lookout Road or from Braeside Street. There are some steps from the dirt road down to where the picnic benches are.
