This tour starts in Thumel, the last village in the Rhêmes Valley, where the asphalt gives way to dirt. Two steep ramps quickly gain altitude and lead to the Thumel basin, opening up views of the pastures and high peaks.

The silence is broken only by the sound of rushing water. After a short descent, you cross the Dora di Rhêmes River on a bridge, and not far from there you can admire the evocative Dora di Rhêmes waterfall, thundering between the rocks.

Turn after turn, the profile of the Rifugio Gian Federico Benevolo appears, immersed in a breathtaking Alpine panorama. Located at approximately 2,287 meters above sea level, it is a reference point for those aspiring to the great peaks of the Granta Parey group. Welcoming and panoramic, it offers a well-deserved break with views of glaciers and high-altitude meadows before returning to the valley.
