This tour explores the Civitella Paganico area, an area that combines the charm of the Maremma with the slopes of the Colline Metallifere. The route is ideal for touring bikes, gravel bikes, and mountain bikes.

Start from Civitella Marittima, a picturesque medieval hilltop village. Just outside the town, the asphalt quickly gives way to gravel: you'll find yourself on a dirt road that narrows into a single track, with a short but intense final climb. The route winds through the countryside and farmhouses, where the classic Tuscan dirt road is framed by cypress trees, the rhythm of the gravel beneath your wheels.

Around kilometer 15, the longest climb begins: about nine kilometers of slowly climbing asphalt road. As you ascend, the panorama expands, revealing vast expanses of forest. A well-deserved descent awaits you from the summit.

About 30 kilometers into the route, a brief historical detour takes you to the Abbey of San Lorenzo al Lanzo, also known as Badia Ardenghesca. This charming Romanesque complex is nestled in the tranquility of the Maremma, preserving its travertine façade and sculpted capitals.

The final stretch leads you back to the starting point with a final, short climb back to Civitella Marittima, completing the loop with a final view of the Maremma.
