Hiking
Embark on a moderate hike to Monte Alpet summit, a journey of 6.1 miles (9.8 km) that takes around 3 hours and 31 minutes to complete. Starting from San Giacomo di Roburent, you will ascend 1945 feet (593 metres) through a mix of terrain. The D04 path guides you from paved sections to natural trails, winding through shaded beech forests and open meadows. As you climb, dirt roads open up to wide views, culminating in panoramic vistas from the summit, marked by a traditional cross.
To begin your hike, you can park conveniently near the church in Pra di Roburent, or start directly from San Giacomo di Roburent. The route is clearly marked with CAI signage, making navigation straightforward. Along the way, Rifugio La Grupia-Alpet offers a welcoming rest stop with views across the peaks. You can also find a refreshing pause at the rustic wooden fountain, Fontana di Legno.
This peaceful mountain walk captures the essence of Piedmont's gentle alpine landscape. From Monte Alpet, the views extend across the Ligurian peaks to the wider western Alpine chain. The trail reveals varied landscapes, from golden grasses swaying in open meadows to the quiet solitude of pine groves. It is a great way to experience the region's natural beauty and pastoral heritage.
