Madonnina of the Alpini and Cross of Monte Momello

Highlight • Viewpoint

Reachable with a few minutes of walking, it is an excellent panoramic point. In addition to the cross that is easy to find in almost all the peaks, there is the Madonnina degli Alpini, celebrated the first week of June by the Alpini di Germagnano group. Nearby we can also find a small but cozy bivouac.

Sanctuary of Saint Ignatius

Highlight • Religious Site

It is located in the municipality of Pessinetto and can be easily reached by car, or there are beautiful walks that can be done. I did a nice ring tour starting from the Margaula di Germagnano hamlet, which you can find in my completed itineraries. If you want to visit it, it is open only in summer, but now I don't remember exactly in what months. However, on July 31, the day on which the saint to whom the sanctuary is named died, the feast is celebrated with mass, lunch, music and procession.

Is this trail suitable for beginners or families?

The trail is rated as 'moderate' and requires good fitness and sure-footedness due to some steeper sections and an elevation gain of about 430-450 meters. While not overly technical, it might be challenging for absolute beginners or very young children. It's best suited for hikers with some experience.

What kind of terrain can I expect on this hike?

The path starts on a short asphalt road in Germagnano before transitioning to a forest trail. You'll encounter a 'mezzacosta' (half-slope) section, a steeper climb to Monte Momello, and then a pleasant ridge.
