Great tour, many beautiful views, interesting landscapes and refreshment stops

Translated by Google

The views were unfortunately not so good today, but the path and the nature around us were beautiful. Not to forget the stops in the huts and alpine pastures. Fortunately, we reached the train into the valley just before the thunderstorm. Optimal.

In South Tyrol there is a ticket for (almost) everything: mountain railways, cable cars, museums... With this endless ticket (the 49 euro ticket should take an example!!!) we first take the cable car from Mühlbach (750 m above sea level). Meransen (1414 m above sea level) and from there take the cable car to the Gitschhütte at 2210 m above sea level. There we start the alpine hut circular hike. Right at the beginning it goes up steeply, there are beautiful wooden sculptures to admire, otherwise there is very little to see as the fog is still very dominant, but it gradually clears and reveals great views. After that it's a long, moderate uphill climb. Beautiful, autumnal vegetation to the right and left, a few flowers or pretty fruit clusters. And at the top of the ridge there is a stark view of the next, steep valley, decorated in the colors of autumn. The descent is very difficult for sore knees (ohwehhh...). There are many stones, boulders and cliffs to overcome. Overall, there are few hikers on the trail. At one point the path is so narrow that fur hairs still stick to the resin on the trees where the cows have laboriously squeezed past. Then we miss the path (for the second time today) and arrive back at the mountain station without it.
