A worthwhile round trip around Lake Anterselva. There is a lot worth knowing about nature and the lake. Also a gorgeous landscape. Best enjoyed early. Otherwise you are not alone here and you won't get a parking space anymore.
The tour started at the biathlon stadium in Antholz. At the lake we went around to the left, but you can also do it the other way around. At the end of the tour we went to the Tiroler Hütte, which was open. There would have been places to stop for refreshments at the far end of the lake, but they weren't open at the beginning of May. Easy tour, on the way back it is helpful if you are free from giddiness 🙃 Approach via the Pustertalstrasse exit at Rasun then continue to Antholz.
A short walk around Lake Anterselva—a little exercise is always good. 😉 Then a quick stop at the biathlon arena, where the World Cup will be held. And also the next Winter Olympics in the biathlon discipline.
Today we were at Lake Anterselva 🌊😀 A really beautiful lake with a naturally serene circular hiking trail 👍 I totally underestimated the weather, it was really cold there❄️ there was often snow and ice⛄️, the lake was still almost completely frozen and covered with a layer of snow. Easy walk along turquoise water, but with lots of people. Lots of benches along the way and places to stop for refreshments at lakeside huts and lakeside hotels - parking at the stadium €8!!!

A beautiful walk along Lake Antholz. There are several places to stop for refreshments. It's easy to walk without hiking equipment. You can also swim in the lake; there are plenty of benches and even a lawn for sunbathing. If you want, you can combine the hike with the Obersee in East Tyrol (Austria). You can take a hiking trail to the Staller Sattel and then up to the Obersee, then circle the lake as well. I've also posted a hike for this. However, we drove up, as the total elevation gain is approximately 5-600 meters. Please note that the Staller Sattel Pass is only accessible once per hour in each direction. So check in advance. Parking at the Antholzer See costs €8 for cars (as of July 2025).
Anterselva Lake...nice lake for families.from the Arena parking lot...with stroller...the path on the left is much better...it goes up slightly..but it is wide and protected..while I do not recommend with children..the right one. Nice. But steep and not protected
