August 8, 2023,Ortler-Alpen: von der Bergstation Schafeck - Kleinboden zum Piz Minschuns (2935m)
Piz Minschuns sounds nicer than the German name "Schafberg" ...

Highlights of the day: of course the summit panorama and the bearded vulture that we saw on the ascent

A somewhat more demanding tour (at least for us flatlanders). From Trafoi, take the chair lift at an altitude of almost 1,600 meters and take about 20 minutes to the Furkelhütte at 2,153m. From there take hiking trail 24 to Pitz Minschun. We then returned via the Schölmental descent to the Furkelhütte.

From the Schafseck up to above the chairlift. Then mostly in a zigzag path, eating up a good amount of altitude, up to the ridge. (Weg24) In the meantime there …

A very demanding tour, only those who are not afraid of heights and sure of foot should hike it. It's very steep up and along the mountain rim. Great view of the Ortler, …
