Gravel riding

Prepare to cycle between invisible borders, where Italy dissolves into Switzerland and the mountain tells ancient stories. The climb begins in the center of Bormio and takes you towards the lakes of Cancano and San Giacomo, surrounded by historic towers and breathtaking panoramas.

At Turripiano, you turn onto the old military road with its gravel hairpin bends and enter the gravel adventure. The first twelve kilometers are all uphill, but the reward is the turquoise water of the lakes and the feeling of being far from everything. Take time for a break, then continue through ups and downs and stunning views.

The climb towards the Jufplan Plateau becomes steeper, with narrow hairpin bends and challenging sections. You cross the border and enter Switzerland, into the wonderful Val Mora, where the landscape becomes lunar and surreal. The view extends to the peaks of Stelvio. The final stretch still skirts the lakes, through forests and high-altitude pastures, before bringing you back to Bormio with dust on your bike, light in your eyes, and the certainty of having experienced something rare.
