Hiking
Your tour starts at the market square in Pappenheim. From here you go in the direction of the Altmühlbrücke and cross it; then straight ahead to the next fork in the road. Here you keep to the right, pass the Gasthof Grüner Baum and climb up about 50 meters to the right. There the loop trail begins. You follow the blue-yellow signs to the vineyard. Here you can enjoy the most beautiful view over Pappenheim.
Now it goes past the wooden pavilion to the left, down the gravel path for about 50 meters, then a path turns sharply right to a wide forest path down into the valley to an overview board of the hiking trails in the region. Follow the signs to Obere Bergstraße, through the avenue to "Charlotte-Nestler-Straße", after about 30 meters go down sharply to the right. At the bottom, take the middle path to the left, which leads you through the forest climbing garden towards the train station.
On the bridge you take the footpath, which then takes you under the street, after the Schützenhaus on the right to Bahnhofstraße. Under the next bridge, go up in the arch to the right, over the bridge, then cross the street to the right. Before the third bridge, turn right, the way to Altmühl over a footbridge. Turn right again on the bike path, past a wood storage area to Osterdorfer Straße.
Here you turn right and after about 50 meters cross the street to the left, past the apartment blocks and following the signs to Friedwald. After about 1200 meters, take path number two to the right to a former quarry; After the rest area you go left to the edge of the forest, here you go sharp right down the ravine and cross the street. Turning right you will reach the starting point after about 350 meters on foot.

Route 8 is quite good.
In town, you have to be careful not to miss the route signs.
