This loop is a kind of tour of the Grand Dukes. Departing from Blois train station, you head towards the Château de Chambord. During this journey through time, you pass numerous châteaux and experience the great royal celebrations and hunting parties of the Renaissance.
This excursion is also dedicated to nature. You follow the Loire River for the first half of the route. On the other bank, you can admire the Natura 2000 Loire Valley site from Mosnes to Tavers. This area protects the banks of the Loire and provides a refuge for birds, which you may spot along the way.
Along your route, stop in Saint-Dyé and look for evidence of the powerful floods that shaped the riverside landscape. And why not quickly depart from the route to visit the authentic villages of Saint-Claude and Montlivault, which have adapted and distanced themselves from the river over the centuries to avoid its overflowing waters.
Set aside time to visit Chambord, its park, and the surrounding forest. There, you'll find wide, straight paths where you can cycle under the trees in peace and quiet.

This is a really wonderful bike ride!!! Fantastic along the river through meadows and forests!!
The last part of the cycle path was worth it, putting both feet back on the ground. That part of the cycle path ran past a lot of waste from fly tippers and caravan people who live in that area. For the rest, definitely recommended. The low speed is because komoot was still on during my walk around the water at Chambord Castle.
