Hiking
This family-friendly circular hike through the Barbarossa Gorge begins at the parking lot of the same name. From here, you cross a bridge to the other side of the railway tracks, where the entrance to the gorge is located.
The circular trail is designed as an adventure trail. At several stations, you'll learn interesting facts about Emperor Frederick I, also known as Barbarossa, who once rested in this gorge with his warriors. You'll hike along adventurous paths, bridges, and walkways, past steep rock faces and beautiful waterfalls through the magnificent natural setting of the gorge formed by the Mühlendorferbach stream.
Finally, the trail leads you out of the gorge to the Barbarossa Table. The emperor himself is said to have rested at this table. From here, you follow the route above the gorge back to the bridge. Then you walk back to the starting point along the same path you came.
