BC-2 Monte de La Esperanza

This route runs between the Las Raíces Recreational Area and the Las Lagunetas area, in the heart of the Las Lagunetas Protected Landscape. Its proximity to urban centers such as La Laguna and La Esperanza makes it a very accessible option for those looking to unwind in nature without straying too far from the city.

If you arrive by car, it's best to do so early in the morning to take advantage of the few parking spaces you'll find along the roadside near "La terraza de Betty," where you can enjoy a drink or a Canarian snack.

Along the route, which connects several historic forest trails such as El Bailadero, Los Ovejeros, and Escuela Hogar, you pedal along ancient royal roads that centuries ago served as a link between towns and regions.

This route features the well-known Pino de la Catadura, an emblematic tree with a huge hole in its trunk, the result of ancient practices of extracting resin for tar production. The landscape is also dotted with piles of pine needles, collected by local residents to use as bedding for their livestock.

After almost 7 kilometers and 400 meters of elevation gain, you reach Las Lagunetas, where you can recharge your batteries with a delicious Canarian dish, along with incredible views of the surrounding protected landscape.
