This easy circular tour through Baden-Baden combines nature, culture, and enjoyment in a relaxed manner and is ideal for anyone who wants to experience the flair of this spa town. Starting at the Kurhaus, you'll head directly into the countryside. You'll soon reach the Frieder Burda Museum, which boasts a fascinating collection of modern art, and you can be enchanted by the roses and sculptures in the Gönneranlage (Gönner Garden).

The route then leads you to Lichtenthal Abbey with its idyllic garden, where Café Lumen invites you to relax with homemade cakes. Enjoy relaxing moments in the park along the Oos River before the old theater, with its impressive architecture and beautiful interior, provides an inspiring finale. For families, there's a lovingly designed playground and a bee trail along the route, which gives children exciting insights into the world of bees.

The return journey can be arranged flexibly. You can take bus line 201 or stroll along the Dahlia Garden and the Gönneranlage back to the starting point. After about five kilometers, you'll reach the tourist information office in the colonnades again. Conclusion: A varied walk that shows everyone Baden-Baden at its best.

Highlight • Monument

Frieder Burda (born April 29, 1936 in Gengenbach, Baden-Württemberg, † July 14, 2019 in Baden-Baden) was a German art collector and honorary citizen of the city of Baden-Baden. His museum, located on Lichtentaler Allee, is one of the most important sights in Baden-Baden.

Gönneranlage and Baden-Baden City Museum

Highlight • Historical Site

The "Gönneranlage" (Rose Garden).
How overwhelmed must the then wife of the "Coffee King" Hermann Sielcken have been when he presented her with this gift? At the beginning of the 20th century, Sielcken donated a beautiful rose garden in the Gönneranlage in honor of his wife. This park was named after Baden-Baden's mayor, Albert Gönner (1838-1909). It was designed by the German ceramist, artisan, and architect Max Laeuger.

The café is an absolute must. Wonderful to sit in the abbey garden. My highlight is the forest and meadow cake.

Theater Baden-Baden

Highlight • Monument

A beautiful 19th-century building. Neoclassical on the exterior, French Rococo on the interior. It has a permanent ensemble for spoken theater, mostly classics. Occasional guest performances, including operas, are also held. The theater is also the venue for the New Pop Festival. The rooms, especially the foyer, can also be rented for private purposes. It is popular for weddings.

After the fresh snow this morning, the Lichtentaler Allee looks like a fairytale world. The trees are powdered white and the first flowers are covered in snow and ice. Together with Susanne, we walk from the Lichtenthal monastery into the city center. Our destination is the famous Cafe König. There we enjoy the pleasant atmosphere with coffee and cake before …
