In the northeast of Tenerife lies one of the island's green gems, the Anaga Rural Park. It's one of the oldest ecosystems on the planet: the laurel forest, a humid subtropical forest with an enormous amount of foliage that traps the humidity of the Atlantic and creates a fairytale landscape.
The route isn't too demanding, with just over 53 kilometers covering just shy of 1,400 meters of elevation gain. Furthermore, since it's a circular route, you can start from your preferred point. This time, we suggest starting from a public parking lot in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, but you could also start from Santa Cruz; both cities are worth a visit to enjoy their respective historic centers. You could even go the other way.
Along the winding roads through vegetation tunnels that lead you to Anaga, you'll find typical farmhouses and some traditional eateries, ideal for sampling the local cuisine and having a snack. The route includes a detour to Pico del Inglés, from where you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the island.
As if that weren't enough, the itinerary includes the famous Las Teresitas beach. It offers an ideal opportunity for a relaxing swim in the sea.

But honestly: the section through the city is terrible. Traffic lights, smelly cars and the air is stagnant.
I started from Tegueste. My tip: I …

Alas, the passover wind was hellish. It blew me over several times, especially on the driveway. I haven't experienced anything like that. So yeah, it's not called the Windy Mountain for nothing. On the rest of the tour, however, the gusts came well.
The north is …
