Kleines Fleißtal – gold mining village and Alter Pocher

This wildly romantic hike through the Fließtal valley begins at the southern end of the valley. Here, you can park your car along the road or, in summer, take the post bus to the Fleißkehre stop, which is a short distance from the starting point.

Right at the beginning, you'll pass a romantic watermill, then descend deeper and deeper into the valley surrounded by the steep and rugged mountains of the Goldberg Group. The 3,105-meter-high Sonnblick stands out in particular and impresses with its presence.

At the end of the valley, you'll reach the gold mining village. Here, young and old can try their hand at gold panning. The village staff will be happy to assist you with advice and tell you how people extracted gold from the mountains around 700 years ago.

After so much excitement and hard work, you've more than earned a bit of refreshment. You can get it at the Alte Pocher restaurant right next door. If you'd like, you can even stay overnight here. Otherwise, after the leisurely stop, hike back to the starting point along the same path.

Tip: If you stay on the road while hiking through the valley, the trail is even suitable for strollers.
