Hiking
You start, preferably early in the morning, in Cuort near Brigels, where the Flembach stream accompanies you and the 12th-century Sogn Sievi chapel stands along the way. The hiking trail soon branches off onto a dirt road into Val Frisal. In the shade of the spruce trees, you climb steadily, inhaling the spicy scent of the forest and hiking through unparalleled alpine flora. At the height of Chischarolas, you will find the entrance to the "Uaul Scatlè," the highest primeval spruce forest in Europe.
The higher you climb, the wider the view opens up: The peaks of Kistenstöckli and Pèz d'Artgas appear, with the glacier already glittering behind them. Suddenly, you find yourself standing before Val Frisal, a vast, open plateau at almost 1,900 meters. Between the glacier foreland and rare moorland plants, you can experience and enjoy this unspoiled place. An idyllic barbecue area near Crap Burlatsch invites you to rest.
On the way back, a detour to the summit of Crap Cavigliauna is worthwhile if you still have energy. The final panoramic view over the valley is simply stunning. The trail then leads you back to the valley via Alp Nova.
