This tour connects the idyllic Amper Valley with the beautiful Hallertau region, cycling through typically Bavarian villages and hop fields. A wonderful cycle path now runs along the former route of the Hallertau Bockerlbahn (Bockerl Railway). The railway line was completed in 1907 and ran from Wolnzach to Langenbach. A short section of the railway is still in operation today.

You start at Langenbach station and shortly afterwards cycle through a floodplain of the Amper River to the Amper Werkkanal (Amper Works Canal). The route continues straight to Zolling with its remarkable St. Johann Baptist Church. Along the way, the Haager Weiher and Anglberger Weiher lakes offer a refreshing dip on hot days. You then follow the Bockerl cycle path steadily uphill, enjoying magnificent views of the landscape.

You cycle between forests, fields, and hop fields to Nandlstadt with its neo-Gothic town hall. At Reichertshausen, you can climb a platform to gaze out over the tall hop plants. In Au in the Hallertau, a detour to the Schlossbrauerei Au and its shady beer garden is worthwhile. Continue along the former railway line to the famous Schimmelkapelle Chapel until you reach the end of the Bockerl Cycle Path near Rudelzhausen. There, you connect to the Abens Cycle Path, which continues toward Puttenhausen and Mainburg.
