Saarlouis city tour

This walk through Saarlouis takes you from the Grosser Markt (Great Market Square) to green islands, historic walls, and a playground for everyone. You'll walk along mostly flat paths through the old town and the fortress grounds.

Start at the Grosser Markt (Great Market Square) and follow the street toward the Stadtpark (City Park). There you'll find the inclusive multi-generational playground – with activities for children, adults, and people with mobility impairments. In addition to a wheelchair seesaw and climbing course, there are also seating areas for resting.

Continue to Vauban Island, a park surrounded by water with the remains of an old fortress, public art, and quiet corners to linger. Stroll back toward the center along Alte Brauereistraße, which still exudes the city's historic charm – with plenty of opportunities to round off the tour with a coffee or a small snack.
