Hiking

Park your car in the large Hagen parking lot and immerse yourself in the untouched nature of Jasmund National Park. Dense beech forests, wide clearings, and consistently impressive views of the surrounding area await you on the three-kilometer hiking trail to the Königsstuhl National Park Center.

Keep your eyes peeled along the way – with a bit of luck, you might spot a sea eagle circling high above the treetops or hear the faint rustling of a badger in the undergrowth. Lake Herthasee is particularly idyllic and perfect for a short break. Numerous legends surround this mysterious place, and its dark waters lend it an additional mystical atmosphere.

At the end of the route, you'll finally reach the Königsstuhl National Park Center, where breathtaking views of the chalk cliffs await you from the Skywalk, a free-floating viewing platform. At the center, you can delve deep into the history of the landscape and explore the impressive three-story interactive exhibition that reveals the invisible.

King's Chair Skywalk

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Königsstuhl Skywalk is a suspended observation platform above the Königsstuhl chalk cliffs of Rügen. The elliptical circular path, known as the Königsstuhl, is supported by a giant guyed mast and hovers above the 118-meter-high Königsstuhl, the largest chalk cliff in Germany. The Königsstuhl Skywalk is barrier-free and therefore also accessible for wheelchair users and families with strollers.

Yes, finally a week's vacation on my old home island.
The hike to the Königsstuhl leads through a wonderful natural landscape and is rewarded with a great view of the steep chalk cliffs and the Baltic Sea.

We're on the island of Rügen from Friday to Monday. We drove from Binz to Hagen, where the large parking lot is located near the chalk cliffs. We hiked up and down through beautiful beech forests, unfortunately not yet leafy, to the chalk fields. As the cliffs, with their chalky rock, have increasingly collapsed over the years and plunged into …

Beautiful nature, a relaxing path and it's really worth it because the view is truly breathtaking. In the buildings, you can visit a museum exhibition and watch a movie. For the little ones, there is a large playground and several stations with knowledge tasks to discover. A small café corner in the center building provides for physical well-being.

The approximately three-kilometer path from the Hagen parking lot to the Königsstuhl National Park Center leads through a charming beech forest and offers a particularly beautiful nature experience. Several ascents and descents characterize the route, which can be challenging for people with mobility impairments. Therefore, a companion is recommended. Additionally, it should be noted that the ground consists predominantly of …
