St. Anna Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

Beautiful small chapel with a nice view. It dates back to the castle chapel of Steinsberg Castle, first mentioned in 1515. When you are at the castle, you should visit the chapel.

The old castle in a beautiful park, not large but romantic.
The newer part of the castle has been converted into a noble restaurant. The old castle is today a registry office and wedding hall, as well as a museum.

View of Burg Neidenstein

Highlight • Viewpoint

The castle in Neidenstein stands majestically on the hill above Neidenstein. But since it is privately owned, you can only admire it from a distance.

Historic town center of Neidenstein

Highlight • Historical Site

Idyllic old town area with half-timbered buildings and narrow streets. Neidenstein was given the name "Burgdorf" (castle village) on October 1, 2022. Incidentally, with its almost 1,800 inhabitants, Neidenstein is the third-smallest independent municipality in the Rhein-Neckar district.

Good food and Dachsenfranz beer can be enjoyed here. The beer garden is cozy and highly recommended in good weather.

After the horrible weather yesterday, there were a few rays of sunshine today. Typical December route with a high proportion of asphalt. The few sections in the forest were easy to ride. The elevation gain in the Kraichgau is mostly unnoticed. The highlight is Steinsberg Castle with fantastic weather and beautiful views.

: I had to laugh so much when I saw your Sinsheim tour. We were probably inspired by the same route. When I then saw your everyday people, I adjusted my tour with a detour into the city to see, in addition to castles and palaces and hills, this as well, like in Oberkirch ;-)

That was a wonderful Kraichgau tour today in wonderful weather. I copied the tour from either @kraichgaukompass or @Kurpfalzradler and changed it slightly. The starting point was the parking lot at the multi-purpose hall and fire department in Adersbach. Then via Neckarbischofsheim, Waibstadt, Neidenstein to Zuzenhausen. Coffee break at the Elsenz, then back via Hoffenheim, Eichtersheim, Weiler and Sinsheim-Steinsfurt. Pleasant …
