Valley route in the Hammerbachtal

This beautiful circular tour through the Hammerbach Valley takes you primarily along cycle paths and well-maintained field paths. It's also ideal for cycling with the whole family. It starts in Henfenfeld at the Henfenfeld rest area, where you can park.

From here, follow the Hammerbach stream south out of the village and cycle along a beautiful cycle path to the former monastery village of Engelthal. The route continues gently uphill, passing picturesque orchards to Schrotsdorf, where you'll find a Kneipp facility for refreshment. The route continues to Egensbach, where the "Zum stillen Bächlein" inn invites you to stop for a break.

Refreshed, you then cycle around the Keilberg, which is lined with hop fields, to Kucha. The water treading facility is a great place to refresh your legs. With renewed energy in your calves, you cycle past the Asselberg to Breitenbrunn, enjoying the magnificent nature and wonderful views all around you.

You've now reached the highest point of the tour and can look forward to a long descent. This takes you to Offenhausen and through the Hammerbach Valley back to Engelthal. From here, you cycle back the way you came to the starting point in Henfenfeld. To conclude your tour, you can pay a visit to Henfenfeld Castle in the village.
