The hike begins at 2,400 meters above sea level at the parking lot at the entrance to the Krummgampental Valley, which can be reached via the Kaunertal Glacier Road and by post bus. The well-marked trail leads you to the right of the idyllic Krummgampenbach stream through an impressive high valley with glacial striations and rock glacier footprints. This pleasant trail has a gentle incline. Already on the first hilltop, you will recognize traces of the former glaciation that formed the rock.
After a crossroads, you will discover a steep rock face that is part of a rock glacier. Crossing large boulders, you will finally reach the Hidden Lake, which was formed by glaciation. Here, a beautifully situated rest area on the shore with a view of the Hochvernagtspitze invites you to linger. On the way back, you follow the familiar trail back to the starting point.
