In the meantime, you can get over the waterfall without getting your feet wet, because there is a stable bridge.

Beautiful but strenuous hike to the Bondhus glacier lake and glacier itself. Unfortunately the glacier has retreated so far that it's not quite possible to get to it. If, like us, you want to (almost) reach the glacier, definitely wear proper hiking shoes, it gets very rocky, steep and sometimes swampy.

Hike along the wild Bondhuselva up to the crystal clear Bondhusvatnet on a wide path. A narrow path along the lake shore continues to the far end of the lake and then up to the waterfall of the Bondhusbreen glacier tongue. Unfortunately, the glacier has retreated a long way and can no longer be seen from the end of the …

A beautiful hike from Sundal Camping on the fjord to Bondhus Lake and further to the Bondhus Glacier, which you have to imagine when you're standing at its base; there's only smooth rock.
Like every hike in Norway, it's always a bit alpine, at least after the walk around the lake.

A beautiful hike. The path to the lake is easy to walk, and accordingly, there are quite a few people along the way. From the inflow towards the glacier tongue, it's much quieter because the path becomes very steep.

Despite the many hikers, it was an absolute highlight. The weather was also on our side. Plenty of photo opportunities around every corner. It's just a shame that the glacier tongue will no longer exist in the foreseeable future. In any case, we took our time and enjoyed the magnificent scenery.

A starry night, forecast for around 11 a.m.🌤️ - so let's get going at 7 a.m. ... with the 🚘 through Rosendal and Ænes to Bondhusdalen: a leisurely stroll along the Bondhuselva lake with repeated beautiful views of the Bondhusbrea glacier.

Showing Translation

Behind the bridges the path was muddy and slippery after all the rain, so good shoes with sufficient tread are helpful.

Short tour on the way to the shops before it gets stormy...beautiful view of the glacier tongue of Bondhusbrea....😃
