Moselle loop via Nancy

Cycling

The route follows the meanders of the Moselle River and forms a loop thanks to the Nancy Junction Canal cycle path. This magnificent, family-friendly route runs through a natural setting featuring water in the form of rivers, lakes, and ponds. You'll find plenty of places to rest and picnic by the water. The route is also dotted with areas equipped with tables and benches.

The cycle path blends beautifully with its surroundings, passing through wooded sections and sometimes following a paved strip between two ponds, giving you the feeling of riding on water. You'll even literally ride on the Moselle River between Maron and Villey-le-Sec.

We recommend dividing this cycling adventure into two stages. You'll find various types of accommodation along the route. However, we recommend stopping in Toul, which is located approximately halfway and offers a wide range of accommodation and dining options.

For this itinerary, we suggest departing from Nancy SNCF train station and following the route clockwise. From renowned vineyards to picturesque villages, prepare for an uncompromising discovery of the Moselle.

Highlight • Religious Site

Impressive Gothic cathedral of Toul, which houses one of the largest cloisters in France! It was stripped of its statues during the French Revolution but kept its superb. Also worth seeing: its two cloisters and the adjoining garden, very pleasant for taking a break in the shade.

Very nice cycle tour (85km), highly recommended
We started in Pompey (good parking on Avenue Gambetta) a short stretch along the Moselle to the Meurthe after about 7.7km over a movable bridge and back at Malzéville, then to the Rhine Marne Canal (runs as a high canal through Nancy - you should definitely see it and cycle along it), to …

Very nice bike tour from Liverdun (part 1 saved separately) along the Moselle, the Meurthe, the Rhine-Marne Canal, the connecting canal and back to the Moselle
Great cycle route mostly on cycle paths, the first 5km on roads, then nice, comfortable cycle paths ..
