A very special highlight is the comfortable bench at the Gaaß summit. Look forward to a journey through the idyllic Lahn-Dill…

This route was planned by komoot.
After the early shift of the two-legged friend, we went for a walk - (despite the heat, which was actually bearable at first). "Chasing" us two sable pelts through the sun. Man, he's crazy - the old "fur tormentor".. !! The new circular route was recently inaugurated. At first we didn't think the loop was that great, as it initially runs mainly on asphalt near the motorway and through sections of construction sites. That changed later and the route got more and more beautiful sections with long-distance views. She was also rich in animals: we saw birds of prey and a swarm of bees, 2 rabbits came galloping towards us 3m away on a bend in the path, and Fiete later stood about 5m away on the path opposite a small red fox pup, when it suddenly emerged from the undergrowth came. Looked almost the same as us from the nose, just in a different color😂. Unfortunately, the cell phone camera wasn't ready to go so quickly, so there are no photos of the fox and rabbit. But great experiences. We also had to "fight through" a 50th birthday - and the rest area "Auf der Gass" and the place with the "Forest Games" were great. Now that's enough for today and rest: But not for our two-legged friend!!!... After all, all the ticks have to get out of their fur - unfortunately there are no photos of them either 😁😁! See you soon, your Bruno 🐾🐾 https://www.haiger.de/freizeit-tourismus/sport-und-wandern/haigerseelbacher-rundwanderweg/
The new Haigerseelbach circular hiking trail. Start at Kalteiche. Is also possible directly in Haigerseelbach. Highlights: Wilder Stein, Wichtelweg, juniper heath
Easily accessible and excellent circular route, mostly forest or tarmac path with many rest stops.
Opening: May 13, 2023, initiated by the Haigerseelbach Hiking Friends in cooperation with the city of Haiger. • Highlights: • Nine stops with panoramic views and rest stops in the Lahn-Dill Uplands • Alternating fields, forests, meadows, and even sections alongside the highway and the Kalteiche Technology Park. ⸻ Sights • Views over the Dill Valley: including Kalteiche, Haigerseelbach, and Allendorf. • "Gaaß" rest area: at an elevation of 543 meters with a forest sofa, built in 2020, supplemented by bench furniture in 2024 (sponsored). • Barbecue hut and picnic stations: at several points along the trail. • Signage: well-marked trail with its own logo. Flyer & GPX file available ⸻ 🗺️ Start, Arrival & Orientation • Parking & Access: • At Kalteiche-Ring 68, near the Rothe Bakery in the Kalteiche Technology Park • Signposted counterclockwise • Digital maps: Available on Komoot, Footpath, Outdooractive, and as a GPX download on the city's website ⸻ 👣 Trail Type & Surface • Mix of • Asphalt and paved forest paths (Komoot analysis: approx. 6.8 km of asphalt, 3.2 km of paved, plus 0.9 km of natural terrain and 1.2 km of looser terrain) ⸻ 🌳 Special Features & Conclusion • The route skillfully combines natural idyll with insights into regional industry. • The "Gaaß" rest area is particularly attractive, with views and seating. Beautifully done, a piece with characters that children will love. should be well received. • From families to hiking enthusiasts – suitable for almost every target group
With the starting point on the cold oak, things are actually going quite well. Unfortunately, part of the way leads along the motorway, so that you have a corresponding background noise for a long time. It's also a pity that you have to go back a bit from the "Gaass" vantage point. Overall, the path is easy to walk and gets 3 out of 5 stars from me.
Very nice round with great viewpoints. The "Wichtelwald" is an attraction in itself. You should see it at least once 👌🏻👏🏻☝🏻
Today, on the holiday, with my two "journeymen" on the new "Haigerseelbacher-Rundwanderweg." A beautiful route, on which it was only a bit "restless" at the beginning because of the direct proximity to the A 45. On the way there were always wonderful views, and yes, there were also "a few" meters of altitude to overcome. That's the way it is with us in the Lahn-Dill-Bergland. We really liked the route!!👍 Length: approx. 11 km 322 HM
At kilometer 10 (see pictures) the hiking trail is currently interrupted by a construction site. You just have to improvise.
