The Suomunkierto circular hiking trail takes you through the wild nature around Lake Suomunjärvi. The numerous paradisiacal sandy beaches that you pass along the way make the hike a very special experience.
It starts at the Suomu Nature House. From here you hike anti-clockwise around the lake. You roam through wooded heathlands, swamplands and grove forests. On some particularly wet sections you walk on plank paths. If you pay attention, you can observe numerous birds, discover beaver dams and other animals that live in this fascinating environment.
The sandy shores of the lake invite you to stop, swim and enjoy the unforgettable view of the sparkling water. You can have a leisurely picnic at the well-maintained rest areas with fire pits and thanks to the campsites along the route you have the opportunity to extend the day's hike.
