Hiking
The tour takes you through a beautiful primeval forest and along the beautiful lake and river landscape around Lake Neitijärvi. Along the way you will find inviting rest areas with fire pits.
It starts at the Ruunaa Outdoor Centre. From here you first hike along the river bank, then you dive into the pristine forest. On the Haapavitja suspension bridge you cross the river of the same name and enjoy great views of the rapids.
After about half of the hike there is a small climb waiting for you, but it is worth it. At the top of the Huuhkajanvaara viewpoint there is an observation tower from which you can enjoy the view over the lake.
The route continues over small bridges, footbridges and narrow forest paths to a very special river crossing at Airovirtra. Here you will not find a bridge, but a boat with which you row to the other bank. You then hike around the western tip of the lake and shortly afterwards return to the starting point.
