This circular hike near Neckenmarkt takes you through gently rolling vineyards with chapels and historical monuments. From the place where you can try the local wines in the "Zur Traube" inn, you hike out into the hilly foothills of the Ödenburg Mountains. Information boards on stones from the Neckenmarkt quarry - so-called wine stones - provide information about the individual vineyards and their characteristics.
You walk past the Florian Chapel towards Haschendorf with the unique cult device. Past countless vines, you come directly to the Austrian-Hungarian border and from there you continue to the picturesque Donatus Chapel. You enjoy wide views over the Pannonian Plain to Lake Neusiedl.
Just a few steps from the Donatus Chapel, a former Hungarian watchtower awaits you, which serves as a memorial to the time of the Iron Curtain. On information boards you can read about the events of the opening of the border in 1989. You finally hike back to Neckenmarkt over a wooded hill.
