The idyllic Pegnitztal cycle path is always along the water. Due to its level routing, this tour is suitable for the whole family. From Neuhaus an der Pegnitz with its stately Veldenstein Castle, you first cycle through picturesque settlements along the river. You can easily reach Neuhaus by train. Then you dive into the forest and follow the narrow but easily navigable path through the landscape of the Nuremberg region.
After you have crossed Velden and the Scheunenviertel there, you come to the Hirsch Bridge, from which you can see a small waterfall. The bike path winds along the Pegnitz floodplains and you change banks several times. You will be accompanied by the rails of the local train - if necessary, you can get on or off at several points on the Pegnitztal cycle path. A cozy place to rest awaits you in Café Inselblick in Vorra. You cycle relaxed along gentle hills to Hohenstadt, the destination of the Pegnitztal cycle path.
Tip: In the north - in Neuhaus an der Pegnitz - the cycle path connects to the Pegnitz cycle path. At the southern end in Hohenstadt, however, you can continue cycling on the Five Rivers Cycle Path.
