The challenging day tour leads from Buchenau to the Schachten. I woke up early...but not from the alarm clock, but from the rain...When I looked Stups straight in the eyes, he made it clear: There will be no mercy. The planned tour must be completed, because it is the only option if I remain in the Bavarian Forest.

Sooo, out and about with my wife again today... It's nicer with two people 🤩
The big Schachten round trip was still on our to-do list. So off to Buchenau and the almost habitual route to the Lindberger Schachten.
Well, what can I say... the weather was fantastic today, the autumn colors were sensational and the fly agarics mentioned above …

One of the most beautiful tours I have ever done.

Splendid. The weather, the landscape, the hike. Can only be recommended as long as the weather lasts.

Today we went on a beautiful hike near Buchenau. The tour took us along wonderful trails through the "Schachten" area. We were thrilled with this varied hike. We had a lot of fun walking the narrow paths and boardwalks.
I definitely recommend this "dream trail" 👌🫶🥾🥾.

The circular route is very interesting in terms of the paths and nature. After a partly steep climb from Buchenau, after about 3km you come to a plateau, a moor, which, together with the surrounding forest, was previously used as a pasture for cattle. The name Schachten means Alpine pasture, and there are several following one after the other. Nowadays, …

A beautiful loop in perfect weather. While there aren't many mountain panoramas on this tour, you'll explore landscapes rarely seen elsewhere. The Schachten (shafts) are an ancient landscape, dating back to earlier use. There's a worthwhile information board at each shaft. The boardwalk is also easy to walk, and you're surrounded by nature.
